An Evaluation of the Usability of Argon Plasma-Treated Bacterial Cellulose as a Carrier for Controlled Releases of Glycoside Hydrolases PelAh and PslGh, Which Are Able to Eradicate Biofilm

Bacterial cellulose is a unique biopolymer that has found numerous biomedical applications, such as being an excellent wound-dressing material or carrier for delivering active compounds. The purpose of this study was to analyze the ability modified bacterial (BC) using low-pressure Ar plasma control release glycoside hydrolases with antibiofilm activity, namely PelAh and PslGh, from Pseudomonas aeruginosa. chemical composition morphology BC surfaces were characterized photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). analyses revealed significant changes in surface due introduction charged functional groups conversion its well-ordered structure into more amorphous form. profiles enzymes both forms different depended on their structural properties.
